We cannot thank Ruth enough, who as General Manager of Best Western’s Lord Halden Hotel in Dunchideock, near Exeter. She and her team could not have looked after our support crew any better at the end of the first day of the challenge. There was a plentiful supply of warm food and sandwiches until at least 3AM this morning. Ruth was also keen to point out that she and her team have not forgotten the central aim of the challenge to raise money for our brave and injured service men and women and she is going to continue to ask their clients and guests to support Horses Help Heroes important cause.
It had been a long first day for the support team and we weren’t even in the carriage or riding. We also had to be grateful for the roof over our heads rather than the canvas roof of the replica WW1 ambulance that will be continuing to steadily make its way non-stop to John O’Groats overnight while we are our in our scratchers.
Despite the tiredness we must remember why are doing this.
Glad people are supporting you along the journey.
Take care guys x
