When did the romans start riding horses?

Well, saddle up my friends, because we're hoofing it back in time! The Romans began riding horses around the 4th century BC, a fact that might surprise you. I mean, talk about being late to the pony party! It's interesting to think that before then, they just used horses for chariot racing, like some ancient Formula 1!
